St.Patrick's Day Celebration

The Toddler Room children listened to the storybook “Flag” by William Crampton. The children looked at the World map and found Ireland. They learned that the flag of Ireland is white and has a red cross.

They searched for green candy that the leprechaun had hidden in the room for all the good listeners; colored shamrocks, removed stickers and placed them on their art.

Some of the activities that the children enjoyed in our Preschool Room were tracing, coloring, and cutting leprechauns. They picked their favourite shamrock stickers and put these on their shamrocks. Children and staff dressed up and enjoyed St. Patrick’s party and danced to Irish music.

Children sang the following song to the tune of (BINGO was his name-o)

                G R E E N,    G R E E N,     G R E E N

And greeno is St. Patrick’s color

Children in the Out-of-School Care Room continued to enjoy sewing and were involved in making rainbows, pot of gold, hats, etc. They have learnt to make the following stitches:-

Basting, running, overcast and a back stitch,

The dress designer dream lives on!

Children in this play room also enjoyed dressing up in St. Patrick’s costumes and dancing to music. They enjoyed our special snack – French toast with spinach for our green theme.
