Teddy Bear Theme

The toddler and young preschoolers in the Green room celebrated the “Teddy Bear” theme last week.

Children and staff arrived at the Centre dressed in pyjamas and enjoyed a relaxing and fun day. Story books were read and they especially enjoyed “Bears on Wheels” by Stan and Jan Berenstain; “Can’t You Sleep, Little Bear?” by Martin Waddell and Barbara Firth, and “The Three Bears” by Emma Bailey.

Children sang songs and played teddy bear games.  They enjoyed standing in a circle while they sang and followed the actions of the teddy bear song/game.

“Teddy Bear, teddy bear; turn around

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; touch the ground

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; show me your shoe

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; that will do

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; go upstairs

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; turn off the light

Teddy Bear, teddy bear; say goodnight!

One of the arts and crafts activities that they participated in was coloring teddy bears and decorating their pictures with tissue paper.
