Epilepsy Society!!!

We were fortunate to be able to book the puppeteers from the Epilepsy Society to educate the children about Epilepsy.

Tawa kids learnt that anybody can have a seizure, but a person with epilepsy has more than one seizure. There are 330,000 people in Canada who have epilepsy, which is  not contagious . We learnt that if you see a person having a seizure you should be calm, call for help and move away objects that may be close to the person’s head, and put the person in the recovery position (person on the side).

This was an enjoyable activity with a great learning message that made the children aware of this condition. The workbooks help enforce their learning and are fun lessons to work on.
